This website is for those interested in the Integrated Archaeological Project, "Can Els Closos Gaia" (Felanitx, Mallorca). Its goal is to provide information on all aspects of the project and to keep open the dialogue between the research team and the public.

The first written records we have of this Bronze Age site come from scholar Miquel Bordoy´s "History of Felanitx,” published in 1920. However, it was not until 1967 that the site was first cleared and mapped by archeologists, Dr. Rosselló Bordoy and Dr. Otto Herman Frey.

The current project was started in 1996, belongs to the University of the Balearic Island´s “Arqueobalear” research team, and is led by Bartomeu Salvà and Dr. Manel Calvo. Since then the project has continued year after year, making "Can Els Closos Gaia" one of the best studied prehistoric sites in the Balearics.
